Yup Sony hacked themselves and stole the information they already had on us!

evolution_1ne, this is ridiculous, if people can hack their way into the US miltary they can hack anything. of course Sony are partly accountable, but they're infrastructure is not invincible, the people responsible are the hackers plain and simple.

the problem Sony have is that they should have encrypted the data a lot better, okay your console gets hacked, hackers cant do shit with that data if it takes years to decrypt.

i only hope Sony have a contingency plan for this sort of thing, because they've waited 9 days to notify consumers. meaning they've had 9 days where the hackers don't know they've been discovered. i'm hoping they've used that time to track down these scumbags.

The problem is that personal information wasn't encrypted at all. It was probably behind some protection but it wasn't encrypted.
