And nobody denies that but a game that does not use the advantage the PS3 has over the Wii would have the double disadvantage of having a smaller userbase to sell to and being slagged off by PS3 fans for lacking HD graphics like they slag off Wii games for it as their arguments why a game is better on PS3 than on Wii is along the line of the greater immersion provided by HD graphics and 5.1 surround sound.
Now it doesn't mean that such games won't happen and they definitely would have had the PS3 enjoyed as much success as the PS2 but it makes it less likely that many of them will see a release on the 360/PS3.
The debate about PS3-level graphic is simple:
Would you argue that every Wii games have PS3 level graphics because the PS3 can match their graphical output? Because it is what you are doing.
Using the term PS3 level graphics does not imply that every PS3 game has such a graphical level or need to have such a graphical level, just that that particular graphical level is only attained by consoles with a power comparable to the PS3; it is just shorthand for HD+DD5.1+multiple graphical effects not available on the Wii's GPU...
