I have to say I find the fact that PS3 is up YoY as a whole in 2011 in EMEAA mindblowing. I mean, last year it had just had a pricecut. I guess people are starting to really see the value of PS3, I'm really glad. It is almost flat YoY WW, too. Another pricecut this fall would do wonders for the system.
About the 3DS, I agree with comments that people think it's just a 3D version of the regular DS. My girlfriend couldn't tell the difference, she thought it was the same system (with the same games) with 3D added in. I still think 3DS will be fine in the long run, though.
