I wouldn't be concerned -- if SONY hasn't found any evidense that credit card information was able to be accessed or has been accessed in 5 days then the information is probably safe. 

 As for SONY's comments -- if they are still inverstigating then they cannot give information that may change later. Not to mention they are re-building the entire network for better security and closing up a number of loopholes, i can only see this as making the PSN stronger and sooner or later problems occur on networks. LIVE went down for days a few ago, PSN is down now, it has happened to bigger more important organisations (like most tax offices around the world). It'll keep happening until the internet itself gets a big overhaul since it was originally designed without security in mind (hence the need for things like SSL, IPsec, etc.)
