Hopefully Nintendo strives for an affordable price tag for the Wii successor. Like $300 (pipe dream though. 3DS is $250 and that's a portable and in the shittiest economy in a long, long time. Look no further than 3DS to see that Nintendo is changing their direction and is starting to lose their touch with the mass market). Affordability has always been a key factor in winning console wars and is especially important for Nintendo (children and soccer moms make up a big chunk of their demographic. I've worked with soccer moms before. They are big penny pinchers and use a lot of coupons.) Way too early for PS4 and Xbox 720. I don't want to see those two launch for anything more than $400. Say no to another $500-600 console launch. If the PS3 and Xbox 360 are still priced at $300, they have no business coming out with a new console anytime soon.

I think it's a bit early for the Wii as well. The PS2 was at $150 for a year before the PS3 was even announced. Inflation has been low because the economy is balls so don't even say that $200 is the new $150 because that's bullshit. The Wii has only been at $170 just recently. Nintendo could have let it sit for awhile longer. Though the price cut to $170 was probably long overdue. If they cut it to $170 awhile ago, the profit margins on the hardware would have been lower but the increased hardware and software sales would have offset the cost easy and Nintendo would have been raking in more profit.

The Wii lost steam because Nintendo stopped putting out a solid effort with it and the gaming industry is full of technophile graphics whores that are more concerned about pretty graphics than creating fun gameplay experiences. The Wii had so much potential. Just look at the Nintendo DS to see how far a Nintendo gaming system can go. The Nintendo DS was fucking amazing even though it was vastly inferior graphics-wise to the PSP. You don't need top of the line graphics to make fun games that the mass market wants to buy. Just look at 2D Mario. To be honest, I think the Nintendo DS was so amazing that it cannibalized a lot of Wii sales. Though to a lesser extent than the GBA cannibalized Gamecubes sales (because the GBA was way, way more fun than Gamecube).

i think the price range could hit $250 with i'd say a 120g hardrive?

and as for the rest i agree
