It adds up when you see that they are decoupling from the TV (screens on the controllers), and that the lifestyle in Japan no longer supports the home console (seemingly). I think this is Nintendo's bizarre way to try and compete with the HD consoles in the West and PSP in Japan simultaneously. The leaked images have no power cable, but an LED showing. |
This is what i'm thinking. In part it could actually be very much a product of Nintendo's long-term thinking about the health of console gaming (at least in Japan), and them trying to combat irrelevance on that front, while at the same time releasing something that breaks down barriers to being able to play on consoles as it is (needing a TV that other people aren't currently using)
The question is if this is purely a tech move, or if they've got the software to make this really shine
