For the two generations we have had this century all consoles launched in roughly one year of each other.
This break away by Nintendo can be pure genius or epic fail. We will all know in a few years but I give them credit for such a bold (some may say obvious but I disagree) move.
The way I see it if Nintendo can have the most powerful up-to-date and innovative console on the market for a couple years or more and can make good hay while the sun shines.
When the other two then launch their new console Nintendo then take a back seat while the two newer more powerful consoles fight it out before it starts all over again.
Seperating their launch by such a massive time gap from the others mean people will only focus on the Nintendo console with Sony's and MS's at least a couple years away.
The one thing MS and Sony mustn't do is rush to react, because that is when shit can fall apart. Yes you must react to what is going on around you but never without considerable thought.
Having such "out of sync" console launches is brilliant from my prospective.
