The way I see it, in the long run, you're gonna buy a 3DS anyway. So it's either buying a DSi and a 3DS or just the latter. Also, I have to say, 3DS's battery life is sufficient when playing DS games so you might as well go for one. On top of that, the 3D and built-in software is fun.
