Single player only so far.
Big improvements. Environment textures, enemy A.I., art direction, pacing and difficulty curve, weaponry, music, atmosphere.....
Drawbacks are voice overs. Kevin Sorbo didn't return and John St. John (best known as the voice of Duke Nukem) does not work well as Michael Ford. His attitude and phrases are far too much like the aforementioned character rather than what you'd expect from Michael Ford.
Wii Motion Plus is used and you gain better off screen camera control and some stability.

There are a whole host of gamers and media that highly, highly disagree with you on these points. I'm both.
But, if you prefer, you can use the GC controller or the Classic Controller.
