If people love 3D Sonic, then why did it never outsell 2D Sonic? You know, back in the early '90s Sonic was only on the Genesis/Mega Drive and sold around five million copies with each iteration. Nowadays he is on two or three different platforms and only achieves half of that despite the addressable userbase being multiple times larger.

But don't worry, you are not alone. Sega doesn't get it either.

I can gurantee a full blown 2d sonic for consoles wouldnt sell anywhere near the genesis sonics. And i get it you obviosuly dont if you thin a 2d sonic will still sell like it used to. Sonic was on a decline regardless after 2 for the genises sonic 3 didnt sell very well from the sales on vgchartz. and sonic heroes and unleashed sold great. I think sonic heroes did over 5 million outselling all sonics but the second.
