The only reason to believe the 6" screen rumor is that Nintendo might be worried about the iPad. But if it isn't multitouch then many iOS games won't get ported anyways. And 6" is still not tablet size.
However to go back to a any two handed controller just seems to be a HUGE step backwards. I thought the six-axis proved that motion in a traditional controller doesn't do jack shit.
My hope was that Nintendo was waiting for Skyward Sword to demonstate what motion plus could accomplish in a longer, complex game. Wish they would leave the controller alone for once & just release a HD compatable console that the technophile Western studios can port games to. Then add in a camera (although with a wider lens than the Kinect) for the casuals.
