An interesting read. I've been hoping for a few years now I guess that procedural generation would become more common. It's doesn't - and shouldn't - make everything 'generic', but it has great potential to make developing bigger games cheaper, quicker, and overall, more efficient. Also, I like RPGs but I hate scripted quests that are the same every time and especially if they feel pretty 'generic' - I'm looking at you, Oblivion (luckily Skyrim seems to be doing a lot better job here).
