I wouldn't say that either console has a superior library, unless we're talking about 3rd party mulitplat titles... The Wii has, IMO, the biggest range of games, with quality games in the 2D and 3D platformer, Action and/Adventure, (J)RPG, FPS, TPS, Action RPG, Sports, On-Rail shooters, racing, Strategy, and many others. Maybe the PS3 has a library on-par with it, but I wouldn't say that either is 'better', just catered to different audiences. Also- PS2 is Shovelware king. 2,500 games with less than 100 worth buying... |
I most absolutely would. I don't see why is it that you want to count them out, they are a legit part of any library. And lol @ you ragging on the PS2, Less than 100 worth buying? Try 200 worth buying (and if it's a list you want, you'll get it). The PS2 runs circles around the Wii, again, again, and again. It runs circles around any console in existence, this gen or any gen prior (IMO).
I'll give Wii Platformers, action/adventure, and On rail shooters. Every other genre? It's severely lacking. No sim racer, with the 360 having 4 I can think of and the PS3 having 2 (that is, of games that I played). TPS? There are none unless you take RE4 for TPS (I'll not even dare to compare them to what you can get on the HD duo to save the Wii the embrassment). FPS? GoldenEye is pretty good, so is BOPS Wii. Everything else you can pass on. JRPG's? It has, off the top of my head, 6 of them, some not even out in the west and one not out yet outright (and without any footage, to boot - DQ X). Both the 360 and the PS3 have more. I can go on.
edit: apparently I'm not the only one who is genuinely amused.
