I don't know why you all cry battery life so much.
It's just a screen.
There are tons of devices with very high quality displays that also have far more mechanics under the hood that this controller would require and still have tremendous battery lives.
This could easily have a good battery and and average life of greater than 15hrs, which is far more than enough for the greater majority of users.

The current controllers of this generation don't even have a 15 hr battery life. The only way they will be able to keep good battery life while adding the required technology for both the video streaming and the display is by using a huge battery which will again add more cost to the controller. It's not just a screen, I'm pretty sure the rumors are that it is a 3D screen like the 3DS which means an onboard processor, though small, will be needed to process the video.
Also, name me some of these supposed devices that have screens displaying VIDEO content and last longer than say 5 hours

DSlite DSi etc etc... and that was with two screens and far more internal hardware.
While I do admit it will require a good battery, but Nintendo is already buying those by the shitload for their portables. Should have a good price for it by now. I still think its possible to have a 10hr lasting controller with 3DS screen and all the other normal wireless controller aspects for a $50-$60 retail which is about what other controllers cost.
Also, I am positive my PS3 controller last more than 15hrs.

You could be right, just seems like I'm always recharging my DS3's after just a few hours here and there over the course of 2 weeks.
We shall see. If the battery life is below 15 hours it is going to seem rather low for a console controller. That's only 2-3 play sessions, but better than the 3DS battery I suppose.
