Humanity more or less has broken the chain of evolution.  Surivival of the fittist doesn't really happen anymore, even if it would be "logical."

There are plenty of things that could be done from current knowledge to make a more logical society.... they would mostly all suck though, and that's why we don't do them.

Well, maybe we'll do them one day. Or maybe we'll jsut find some ways to correct those problems without sending people to concentration camps.

Or... you know.  Just let the problems stick around.

Even if it would be logical.  It's far better to put up with aids long term then deprive people of their rights as human beings.
