but yea this new mode made me think of majora's mask in how you could defeat boss' over and over, and in order to get somet hings you had to beat them again

Nope, any boss. It's just highly impractical against Gyorg (because FD can't swim so you're reduced to shooting at him, but then Gyorg gets at weird angles making that difficult), and Twinmold (for more obvious reasons)
