Well Killzone 3 is actually the first fps to ever make me enjoy it's online multiplayer. I've given just about every fps's online multi a try, including KZ2, and always found myself becoming quickly bored by the experience. Killzone 3's multiplayer is pretty darn sweet, and it definitely took me by surprise; however, imo if they want to gain higher sales they need to do 2 things:
1. Add more game/multiplayer modes!!!! I thought with KZ3 they were gonna go crazy with content and different multiplayer modes, but they barely added any! I was stunned and irritated when I first found out. Look at Halo. I'm not personally into Halo, but the amount of game modes they include in their multiplayer imo is one of the, if not the, main draws for the game. I know Sony likes to let their developers do what they want, and I respect the heck out of them for being so lenient; but in the case of the KZ series, they need to have a talk with GG before they release the next game in the franchise. As is my obvious opinion, the multiplayer that GG does create is fantastic; but they just need to add more content. They need to leave the consumer wanting for nothing that isn't included in the game.
2. Take the gore and profanity down a level or five. Adolescents and children make up a significant portion of the gaming population. For most kids up to the age of 15 yrs old, parents are often in charge of what games they play. Many parents are not okay with their child playing a game where he/she will be gouging people's eyes out with their thumbs or stabbing people in the eye with a knife. GG is alienating a significant potential fanbase by putting so much excessive violence, as well as profanity, in their games. Again, I think Halo is a good example of this.
That's my take on it. Again, I love the KZ3 multiplayer. I was convinced I would never enjoy an fps's multiplayer until KZ3 came along. But it def has a lot of things it needs to improve for the next sequel.
