Honestly, I'm pretty much indifferent to her. As a character, she (like most video game characters) just isn't all that interesting to me. Well, not since I got past the initial 'OMG I WAS PLAYING AS A GURRLL?!' phase.
I really wouldn't care if Nintendo decided to replace Samus with a new protagonist. In fact, I'd encourage it, since the Metroid canon is starting to get way too convoluted. (Though Sakamoto would probably fight to the death before letting that happen.
