A final note on my list above. I've intentionally designed my list so the the system may not require any moving parts. No optical disc drive or mechanical hard disk drive. Even a fan may be replaced by passive cooling.
The benefits of the above are great. They'd include fast game access times, fast load times, fast mass storage access, rewritable game media, no disc failures or scratches, no mechanical HDD failures, cooler temperatures, longer longevity, fewer failures, smaller form factor, etc....
