What is BOM?

if the $200 is the price of the components, then selling it for $250 would be a $50 loss, at least, taking into account manufacturing, distributing costs, as well as the retailer's cut.

BOM = Bill Of Materials.

We don't know what the cost of manufacturing is, or wharehousing, shipping, or retailer cut (though it's usually very, very little).   So you can't say it's flat out $100.  However, I think you missed the post slightly below that one where I conceeded that $300 is a better price.
