You guys think my set up is too costly?  I'll break it down for you.

1. A $25 - $35.00 GPU can top the PS3 right now.
2. Power6 is IBM last generation CPU.  The Broadway CPU in the Wii was at the time IBM's then last generation architecture.  A 4 or 8 core Power6 woulnt' cost much mroe now than the Hollywood chip cost them back in 2006.
3. RAM is insanely cheap right now.  4 GB at retail is under $40 right now.  Vendor costs would be closer to $30.
4. The holographic media is something Nintendo has already invested a lot of money into.  Flash media is already being used for the 3DS up to 8 GB.
5. SSD prices are also dropping.  I never said how large of a capacity.  Doesn't have to be a big one, just one to use.   16 GB is under $50.  Vendor price is likely closer to $35.
6. 802.11n is cheap.  $5 - $10 at most.
7. This is where it will cost a lot.   They could eat the costs, like Sony, or charge for the service like MS.  No way to tablulate a price here.
8. Well, this is Nintendo we're talking about.

So, still think this is too expensive?  I'm looking at a BOM of about $200 for everything.  They could charge the same price as the Wii at launch ($250) and still make a hefty margin per unit of $50.
