Improved gameplay was nice but it seems that with every game, it's less about being an assassin and more about being an invincible killing machine. Rome was a nice place but by the time I finished the game, I was almost bored with having just one city. Story didn't progress all that much and it didn't feel like it could stand out on its own - at all. At least I got to play more as Desmond - and I didn't have to do it but whenever I wanted to, I wasn't restricted to simple walking around. Multiplayer has some nice ideas but I never liked it because it feels 'glitchy'. They should have focused more on single-player instead.

I think AC:B a game that gets worse instead of better as time passes. I still think AC2 is awesome but the more I think about AC:B, the more it feels like AC2.5 and in a way very incomplete. I've actually lowered the rating I gave it twice during writing this post.

@hatmoza: The ending is pretty important but I wouldn't call it good under any circumstances I think. But that's just my opinion.
