how many people said that AFTER the 599.99 bombshell, people who should not have been taken seriously I hope

Pretty much all analysts. They were laughed at by a vocal minority, and applauded as geniuses by the majority of forum dwellers and industry 'experts'

Enterbrain: PS3 will lead Wii by Q4 2007

2010

It expects that PS3's global lifetime sales will reach 127 million, compared to its prediction of 103 million Wii

I remember this sorta thing happening...

*PS3 will outsell its rivals 2:1!*

*Wii will sell less than 30mil LT!*

*PS3 will win because of Blu-Ray!*

*Wii will be dead in 2007!*

*Wii will be dead in 2008!*

*Wii will be dead in 2009!*

*Wii will be dead in 2010!*

*Wii will be dead in 2011!*

*PS3 is ahead of the 360 WW Sales!*

*2007 is the year of the PS3!*

*2008 is the year of the PS3!*

*2009 is the year of the PS3!*

*2010 is the year of the PS3!*

*2011 is the year of the PS3!*

*PS3 will outsell PS2!*

*PS3 will last 10 years!*

etc.

I never understood why Sony got soooo much good press and why the Wii (and, to a lesser extent, the 360) were 'doomed to fail'  EVERY.YEAR

Sales trends show that the PS3 won't last 10 years, if it does it will be down to around PS2 levels now, and Sony will be in a real difficult situation...

I'd just like, for once, for the hate to be lifted from Nintendo, heck, ALL the companies and just admit that this gen has been successful for all companies. This year has been very close sales-wise, and because of the quality of all 3 consoles, that's how it should have been...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
