There will be a redesign for sure, not only for the battery problem, the screen will be probably upgradable in the next few years. Only recently toshiba and other TV manifacturers have started to develop 3D TVs without glasses for consumers (the first models will be out in 2012). So I guess the tecnology will become chepaer and more efficient in the next few yaers.
