As I said over a 1/2 dozen times now. The Wii and XBox 360 don't do much in the summer, because more casual gamers are attached to these systems then the PS3. Casual shoppers do not purchase as much gamers/hardware during the summer as hardcore gamers do. Now when Oct - Dec rolls around , and the casual shoppers appear, that when the XBox 360 & Wii come out to party. It has happened like this over the last 4 years and the trend isn't going to change, except when a price cut happens in the summer. XBox 360 had an even bigger surge last year due to Kinect (a casual add-on device). PS3 always closes the gap in the summer though. Then in the winter the Wii and 360 explode and surge ahead by another million or so. This year a lot will depend on the price cuts and who announces theirs first. Remember when the PS3 Slim got released with a lower price it dominated the holidays mostly, except for the Wii. This year all 3 systems are suppose to get price cuts, so we'll see what happens. |
thats actually a really good point, i never really thought of that
