After a handheld launch, how has Nintendo console software been?

I think this year will be a good benchmark for testing Nintendo's level of commitment to software above hardware, as they have been quoted saying several times recently.

We already know about a few games for Japan - Pandora's tower, Fatal Frame, Kirby, Rhythm Heaven, Zelda, but none of them are real heavy hitters so I hope there's more to come.

Outside of Japan is anybody's best guess atm I'm afraid... personally I am optimistic.
