Against The Grain: The Wii's return to grace

If by people you mean me, no I don't hate on PS2, I think most of last gen was utter crap but I did enjoy not having sub par games hyped up, cause their last gen equivilant would be 20 dollars cheaper and 4 times longer... still I really wouldn't want to play a sub par game for 20 hours or just 5...

Anyway PS2 had times when not that great of games came out, it had a lot of shovelware, in fact a lot of the Wii shovelware began life on PS2, but that's the point market leaders had dips in their release libraries, the problem being the big PS2 fans that liked the "meh" games of last gen look at Wii and see games that are totally different to those that they're accustomed to so they see them all as unimportant or not fun titles.

I guess the way to hit the nail on the head is you see how a lot of people that enjoy the Wii don't notice these "long droughts" in games?  Because they see plenty of games they enjoy, these gamers are often like me and see cinematic games that don't focus on the game play as "meh" titles so the spans between PS2 titles that focused on game play AKA games that appeal to our demographic were pretty long periods.

So simple, I'm not hating on PS2, there were just long periods where games for my demographic didn't come out on it, and to look at it from the demographic that enjoyed the PS2 titles, they look at Wii and there are large gaps between titles that appeal to them come out on the system. 

Thing is I nor a lot of other people I know went onto message boards and whine about the PS2, but for the life of me I can't seem to understand why people feel the need to whine about a console's release schedule they proudly proclaim to not own.  I always own multiple consoles cause I know even though a console might not have a lot of games appealing to me cause I'm a different demographic there will usually be exclusives that do.

Sorry for the long rant especially if this wasn't targeted at me
