If you can, find a Linksys or d-link. Try and get a G or N (wireless routers are backwards compatible to older frequency ranges). I don't like netgear routers at all.
BTW, your router is independant from your AOL internet connection. As far as I know, there isn't a list of routers that work with AOL, they should all work. What it depends on is what sort of wireless network adapters you have, but like I said, new routers are generally backwards compatible to the older frequency types. The newest ones are N, which have super fast (for over air) transmission speeds, but they are more pricey (especially the adapters...sheesh).
