| amp316 said: I will respond to the underlined. Both the Wii and the 3DS are Nintendo handhelds? You learn something new every day. Nevertheless Nintendo does make a profit on both and wanting more games has nothing to do with the 3D feature and I never claimed that it did. Then why put it in an OP about how you think 3D is useless? Why would I want third party support like this handheld is getting? Most of what I am seeing from 3rd parties are games that were released years ago, 2D fighters for a 3D system (this is being told that you can kiss your dream girl after your tongue is cut out), and games based off of a minigame from another game like Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D. Yeah, I already adressed this. They are launch games. That's what devs to when ANY new system is released. They port games to it. And what si the problem with 2D fighters on a 3D system? It's not THAT kind of 3D. You must be confusing the two.
I think you are confusing the 3D Super mario was marketed on and the 3D 3Ds is marketed on. Super Mario was marketing on the 3D where you play in a 3D environment. It's like SMBii and SMG2. SMBii is 2D, you can only move left and right plus jump. SMG2 you cant move in a 360% around you. That's the 3D Super Mario 64 was marketed on, not the same 3D as 3DS. Completely different things. Yeah. Obviously we know that this system will get good 3rd party games. Look at Nintendo's track record for that sort of thing. Like I said, I don't have enough time. I wanted to be an astronaut and a race car driver when I was young but didn't have the time so I settled on playing Wii games. Follow suit so you don't waste your entire life playing video games. So what if someone is a handheld only gamer/primarily a handheld gamer? I don't even see how this applies to the thread title. The 3D feature either is going to ensure that the majority of the games released for the handheld are 3D. Either that or your going to pay a lot of money for a feature that you're not going to use. Either way, it stinks. 3D platformers are in nature more barren than 2D ones because they are 3D. 2D platformers are much more tricky due to numerous jumps and devious level design because running for half a minute in one would be boring. That has NOTHING to do with 3D/handheld systems. It's all up to the developer. That's the point. Art direction and gameplay make a game realistic? Okay, that's fine. I was just saying that I like my games to be less realistic. If I want true realism, then I'll go outside. If you think 3D somehow makes games more realistic, then what do you think of motion controls on Wii? You seem to love Wii so much so you must like motion controls where you actually do more realistic motions instead of pressing a button. That is why my OP is not full of bull =) Your OP is still full of bull. Your problem doesn't seem to be the 3D like the thread title says. Your problem seems to be either you prefer home consoles over handheld systems or you don't have time to commit to both a console and a handheld. Plus your confusion between the N64 3D and the 3DS 3D. The 3D on 3DS doesn't mean it's for 3D environment games only like you seem to think. 2D games can be done on 3D... |
