That was Inafune's attempt to sabotage the IP before he left.

So Capcom didnt know about his plan to sabotage thus Capcom stil doesnt know what to do =P ...unless Capcom really just didnt care about Megman anymore and let him go through with it lol

He was holding Jun Takeuchi hostage. They didn't have a choice.
