I think Vista's fine as long as you're running it on a computer intended for Vista and has 2GB of RAM and a dual core. Upgrading an old machine to Vista is just awful, which is what a lot of people did.
Most people can't even make a valid argument on why Vista sucks, but still complain. I've had no gripes with it personally other than it being a resource hog compared to XP.
