I'd already have switched to 7 if it supported some software I absolutely need right now. Luckily I won't need that stupid piece of software for much longer but there's still reasons to keep using XP - and the least reason is certainly not that XP is a fairly decent OS even today. Also, switching over to 7 isn't necessarily free... In fact, $100 is hardly cheap or even affordable for an OS.

In my experience, it's far more convenient, quick to use, and stable. Worth the upgrade, but if you can't just yet then eh, I get it. XP is decent, Win7 impressed me a lot though.
