when you goto game type there are four modes to chose from it looks like this

if you look at the description it will say what the game type is with classic settings. So far the only difference I have found is that classic is round based. As far as the other changes go I havent noticed but I havent play much as I find it hard to get into the game and like it as much as socom 2.
