I find it kind of amazing that Nintendo supporters are now adapting the PS3/360 supporters' "blue ocean" bitchfests about the Wii to suit their argument over why iOS/Android doesn't matter.

Oh, sweet irony, you're killing me.

Hilarious, isn't it?

All I care about (other than my job which involves most of the aforementioned markets, hehe) is that DS/PSP games ports are starting to come in for smartphones, which means I don't need to buy a 3DS for the games I care about. Turn-based strategy and RPGs work fantastic on smartphones, so there are games like the PSP version of Spectral Souls on Android for $14, and the 3D DS port of Final Fantasy III available on iOS for $16.

If the market keeps up at this pace, as a gamer, I have litterally no reason to ever buy a 3DS or NGP for my gaming preferences. Heck, its hard to buy games on the Android market as it is, because I am still working on re-playing SNES games via SNESoid. 16-bit games look absolutely fantastic on smartphones - much better than their upscaled to TV counterparts. I sunk about 40 hours into Game Dev Story which I paid $1.99 for, which was a steal too.

And lets not begin to discuss N64/PSXDroid. I haven't even begun to sunk time into Final Fantasy Tactics or Mario Kart 64 on a phone or tablet. Things like that are why I love the smartphone market. Its so dynamic, and you get such a buzz from seeing such games on a device that you never purchased for gaming, but end up throwing away your DS for.

You sound like a viral marketer.
