It says "highest day-one sales for any portable system in the company's history", so this is refering to Nintendo handhelds only and obviously includes launches of new models like the GBA SP or the DS Lite.

Didn't catch that part. I guess I just read the title.

This is actually more encouraging, though, since they didn't make any comment about other products at all, meaning that they probably didn't have sufficient data about others to do so, and they could've still topped them.
