Under scrutiny? I was clearly joking, while haters rode the original VGC article and the sites it cited happy to misunderstand a "screen of death" (that has been historically used for SW failures, while catastrophic HW ones usually use lights, if the HW itself is still able to turn them on, that is, so the wording was actually correct for this case) for an unappellable bricking verdict, and a few rabid fans attacked the article accusing it of incorrectly implying the same thing with that choice of words and of being biased against Ninty or just wishing to stir a flamewar. And I just found the thing amusing, you know, much ado about (almost) nothing, 
clearly 3DS won't sink for this little glitch, it will just be outsold by ______ (insert competing portable or smartphone of choice).
