Well, yes, but CoD didn't have any direct competition there was no contemporary FPS around to split the market, and MW seemed to have hit a huge untapped market. Before MW FPS was either world war 2 related, or sci-fi/futuristic. I don't see the pretenders (MoH reboot / Battlefield) getting that huge untapped market boost that MW enjoyed. I guess we'll see. Certainly looks like BF3 should expand on BF:BC2 given how much 2 expanded on 1, and that it's generally a highly regarded series by those who play a lot of FPS.
