@flashpoint: i think you are more mature than the average guy of your age. don't worry, when you'll go to the college you'll find more and more guys like you... just don't give up on male friendship. i don't like too much beeing among males (i think 70% of my friends are females) but male friendship isn't something easy to replace with female-male friendship, you just have to find some friend who doesn't think constantly about sex and vulgar jokes.
to go back on topic i don't think there is an age when it becomes weird to be virgin. one should lose his/her virginity when he/she really feels about it. i lost my virginity at the age of 20 (now i'm 23, going for 24). i think i was a little late respect the people i knew, but i'm happy i waited to it with the person i loved (and i still love)
