It's wonderful, I like it a lot. ^^ It's definitely a vast improvement over DS (aside from the obvious graphical enhancements), stuff like the interfaces and the whole Streetpass thing are really well done, it's really great how much stuff to do Nintendo's giving you without actually buying a 3DS game.
Personally, I've had zero problems with the 3D. It works great for me, and while there is indeed a rather narrow sweet spot you need to be in to view the 3D effect, it's easily maintained, to me, and after a while it becomes second nature. The system itself is also really comfortable to hold, even with my rather large hands and after becoming so used to my DSiXL. It just feels like better quality when you're holding it, too.
Oh, and the sound's pretty well done, too, I was actually amazed the 'surround' setting works as well as it does, I could actually hear the sound coming from behind me when I passed a waterfall in Pilotwings. ^^
Also, the blue colour is dead sexy.
