7 million pounds is a drop in the bucket as to what developers and publishers based in the UK will make. It will not rectify the larger tax issues that the UK has which prevents developers from staying there. It may help the brain drain slightly, but since there are much better places in the world to do business, its unlikely this will help.

Although I'm not going into game development, I'm certainly leaving the UK as soon as physically possible to go out and work in the Silicon Valley. It's not just the taxes, though, it's everything - general culture, weather, finances (I know that California's finances are not exactly rosey, but it's like diving into a barrel of tits compared to the UK's). On some levels, the UK will just never be able to compete.

I care to disagree with you. Guess im a bit nationalistic but i would neva leave the UK no-matter what to me its my country and will always be the best country in the world (i mean no ,offence to any other countries by saying this). So what if theres high taxes at the moment it will hopefully pass and when my generation takes over i hope we do a much better job than the current generation and really make a change. I believe in the UK!

I used to, too. But it's not just the taxes... I'm fed up of living in a country where the people don't know what's good for them. The answer to just about everything here is "let's get the Government involved" which usually results in them in banning something. MDMA, guns, smoking, dangerous dogs, etc, etc.

Unfortunately I think youll find a lot of places are like that nowadays
Wait... does this mean im not human?
