I have a sinking feeling that my Sandile will be no match for either of Elesa's Emolga. And what the hell is up with the static ability? How broken is that?
These fricking gym leaders with their broken, weakness-avoiding pokemon.

Just make sure they don't Volt Switch you to oblivion. If you're unlucky they can Volt Switch to Zebstrika and that's a really pain because he also uses Flame Charge. Though with Sandile that shouldn't be much of an issue given it's immunity to Volt Switch.
Just wait until you get to the 6th gym and their Roost and Detect spamming

I'm afraid of Aerial Ace, rather. Sandile doesn't have good def, and at this stage, not good speed either. Then the fact that touching them means paralysis :/

Well, if you get overwhelmed with the Emolgas, you can always catch and train a Roggenrola. Trust me, Boldore/Gigalith (if you manage to trade evolve it) make short work out of them.

this is very true, my sandile and gigalith tore apart the electric gym

Reminds me of Blue when I caught a Geodude, taught it Dig and trained it up until it evolved before I fought LT.Surge. He was sluaghtered and that Geodude stayed in my team for the rest of the game. Also the reason why I have a Roggenrola in my squad now.
Speaking of my Roggenrola, it and my Timburr are only a few levels off evolving and I dont know anyone with the new games who I can ask to trade. Is there anybody willing to do me a favour and trade with me so I can evolve them?

I can help you with the trades. My FC is on the OP on the first page
