Piracy isn't stealing, that's your main fallacy in your argument. Piracy is a sign of what consumers want. Ability to get something instantly, within minutes of their initial "i wanna listen/watch/play xxxxx," the ability to copy it wherever and whenever they wish, not having to pay ridiculous amounts of money for something they deem isn't worth the amount. There are many reasons for piracy, in fact this thread mentioned it. Pirates are just under-serviced consumers who demand something that they aren't getting. It's up to the businesses to find a way to provide for them, and whoever does will be rich, whever doesn't should go bankrupt. The thing is that incompetent businesses want to remove piracy because of their obsolete business models are hurt by it, as they should be. Also, yes, this very much counters your entire misguided rant. |
Piracy is getting something and not paying for it. It's stealing.
Making back-ups is fine... why are you talking about back ups? If somehing is not worth the amount then don't pay for it? People don't have steal it. If items are worth too much just don't pay for it. It's not rocket science. Pirates are under-serviced consumers, that's funny. I imagine some would like more, or how you put it under-serviced... that still doesn't give them the right to own something without paying for it. It is up to the businesses to find a way to provide for them... and if they fail the consumers still don't have a right to steal. Business are hurt just fine without by consumers not paying for thier products... but consumers are immoral when they enjoy something that isn't paid for.
Not one bit. It isn't misguided at all.
All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.
I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.
