Yea, I agree with this. I think many people are using this gen to base their decisions on. But in truth, one of the main reasons so many gamers jumped ship to the 360 was the fact that the PS3 had such a rough launch ($599 price tag and lack of quality launch games) and the first couple of years were pretty rocky (lack of quality games and most multi-plats looked better on the 360.) However, these past few years Sony has really turned it around when very few thought they could. I remember when I first joined here the gap was ~ 8 mil units sold, with many 360 fans saying the gap would never shrink and only get bigger. Here we are 1 1/2 years after the price cut and launch of the Slim, and the gap is now down to 3.7 mil, 2.9 mil if you go by shipped numbers. That's 4.3 mil units more than the 360 in that span of time. And it's not like the 360 just stopped selling, it too has been selling quite well. This just proves to me the PS brand is very much alive.
And next gen, Sony is going to make sure they have the right price and quality games at launch.
