Now if some savvy marketing politician can sell this policy to the mainstream public. They could say it is based on economic rationalism and good for Capitalism. Keep more money in your pocket or pay the fine if you want a second child.
A policy that is beneficial to the individuals and benefit Capitalism people will vote for it. By embracing one child policy more people will be better off.
One child policy has been an incredible success in China. Slows down population growth and China's economy is going from strength to strength. China was once a third world country. Now it has the second largest economy in the world. One Chil Policy has succeeded and is partially responsible for the economic prosperity of China.
