7 million pounds is a drop in the bucket as to what developers and publishers based in the UK will make. It will not rectify the larger tax issues that the UK has which prevents developers from staying there. It may help the brain drain slightly, but since there are much better places in the world to do business, its unlikely this will help.

Although I'm not going into game development, I'm certainly leaving the UK as soon as physically possible to go out and work in the Silicon Valley. It's not just the taxes, though, it's everything - general culture, weather, finances (I know that California's finances are not exactly rosey, but it's like diving into a barrel of tits compared to the UK's). On some levels, the UK will just never be able to compete.

whats wrong with the general culture ?

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the culture here, per se, I just much prefer the way of life out in the USA. I can't put my finger on what it is, but there's something that I just prefer about the way life is in the USA, compared to here.
