I'm suprised Nintendo authorized early sales. But then again it might be a diplomatic move to ensure the retailer gives Nintendo more shelf space. I remember when StarFox:Assualt launched in the US, it was availible early from BlockBuster. Nintendo had a deal with BlockBuster though I'm not entirely sure what it entailed.
So I wouldn't be suprised if Nintendo cut a deal with the retailer!
