This is pretty irrelevent since online shoping has drastically increased in the last 4 years, which would mean retailers would expect less physical customers as a trade off. To get the right comparison, you need the first week sales. Even then the PS3 was $600 and the 3DS is $250. The better comparison is wii, DS, and PSP.
