  • Make it Full HD, so 1080p on every game with a solid frame rate, just for the lulz of Nintendo being the first company to deliver on this when others promised it at past E3 conferences.
  • Friend codes - I don't mind them as long as its one per system and we get a proper friends list like XBL/PSN. A username scenario would be better though. Along with this I'd like some kind of meaningful reward system. I've no interest in showing off e-peen through trophy score, but if you could use some kind of trophy/achievement system to build up points to spend in the online store, then that would be great. So for example, if you complete the 3D Mario game with the bare minimum number of stars, then you could get 500 points, but if you go the distance and find every star, you'd double that and get an extra 500 giving you 1000 in total.
  • Storage - This is something they need to improve on, with the advances of online stores for games and video, they need at least 50GB internal memory, but 100GB or more would be better, we can then see an improved WiiWare store with a few more multiplatform titles due to the disposal of the size limit.
  • An improved Wii remote with motion plus built in as a minimum, if the addition of a Kinect/Eye style camera can improve it even more, do it. But I'd ship a classic controller along with the console for those who don't want to leave that style of control behind, thus developers can either include options for each control scheme or focus on one in particular if they don't think the other is suited to their game, as everyone has at least one of either controller.
  • We've seen Nintendo go with modified optical media before, so perhaps some kind of modified Blu-Ray disc provided by Panasonic.
  • The 3DS has the ability to pause mid-game and bring up the browser, I'd like the next home console to also have this feature, as well as being able to message friends, etc, mid-game.
  • The hook - It needs something to differentiate itself. More power alone isn't enough. I'm hopeful that Nintendo R&D are cooking up something, but whatever it is, I couldn't speculate.
