I'm a Nintendo fan and DS fan, but the 3DS' effect in 3d was very minimal and therefore unimpressive in terms of hot it can relate to gaming. and yes the sweetspot is fairly delicate - not that it matters since putting the 3d all the way up is still not that impressive.
Also, I've never been angry at Nintendo for delivering lesser graphics capabilities in lieu of other better features, but there it actually is awkward to look at unappealin visuals in 3d. For example, a 3d effect would be pointless for unenhanced graphic games like the DS Zeldas or even a 2d mega man game... because it's awkward to see a 2d image pop out of the screen, or to see jagged 3d image pop up out of the screen.
Idk, I hope my experience gets better with multiple tries.
