well....

if it wasn't for the Japan earthquake,

Sony would be in really good shape, and MS would be in a bit of trouble

I mean the PS3 wouldn't even need a price cut, it's already outselling the 360 by quite a margin in weekly WW hardware, and closing the WW total hardware gap.

However....

because of the earthquake, Japan will probably plummet to near abysmal sales for all consoles, for quite a while

So.....

the 360 will probably be tied with the PS3 or slightly above the PS3 in weekly WW hardware for quite some time

actually, if it wasn't for Kinect, MS would be in serious trouble....thank God for Kinect

eventually, the PS3 sales will come back in Japan, but I wonder if it will be at pre-earthquake levels....

Before the earthquake/tsunami, the PS3 was doing quite well in weekly worldwide hardware, surprising a lot of people.  And MS has already played all it's cards already, with Kinect.  MS could cut it's price, but Sony would match any price cuts.  But really, Sony didn't need a price cut.  The PS3 outsold the 360 every week this year in WW hardware, except for one week.

But that was before the earthquake/tsunami....

Oh well....
